It was scheduled to come out on May 7th.

1st Date = Take expected release date and add 6 months
2nd Date = Take new release date and add 2 months
Addl. Dates - Take new release date and add 2-4 weeks
(In cases of Zelda, ignore all rules and add 6-12 months.)
Seeing how this new release date is less than a week from the last one, I'd say Nintendo is releasing it early.
There's an old saying in business: People remember when you do something wrong a lot more than doing something on time.

I thought it was the 17th.

(1) The release numbers for ds lite in Japan are rediculously low (though still the best selling console) due to slow start to production. Unless Nintendo can ramp up the production to 750,000 units a month or more for every region then I sincerely doubt they will launch the ds lite in may in the states.
(2) The initial release of the GBA in Japan was March as well I believe. They didn't release it in the states until August or September if my memory is correct. The production shortage of the original GBA seems to mirror the DS lite situation pretty well.
In conclusion, I wouldn't get my hopes up for a May DS lite release unless they can all-of-a-sudden toss out an addition 1-2 million units in Japan.

Half a month is hardly anything worth crying over.
Metroid Prime Hunters was worth the wait I'll say that much.
Was Mario Kart delayed? That was worth the wait too, if it was.
You could always go buy Princess Peach if you're in the mood for a decent side scrolling mario game right now and can't wait 2 months.

I don't see anybody complaining about there being over 12 Final Fantasy games.

Care to prove that b/c last time I checked NO release date was announced for the US yet.

That means the pal version will surely come in June.
Well, that isnt too shabby. Animal crossing took like 4 months and MP:hunters and Tetris will come...May.
"Mario shit over and over is making me hate Nintendo I had enough Mario back when I played Mario 1 so if you really going to bring Revolution stop trying to re invent the fucking wheel and let those to fucking plubmers die."
You Sir, are a fool. (always wanted to say that! :P)

You see, Nintendo saw that Mario was a big hit, so, they made a franchise out of it. Just like MS with Halo. But you might say that Mario's got more games than Halo, of course he would, he's been around longer.
All your comment says to me is that you wouldn't understand a good idea if it bit you in the ass.

There are a LOT of Mario games, but aside from Mario Party, it seems there is only one Mario of each genre on any given system(except NES and SNES). You're gonna get a Mario racer, puzzler, fighter, platformer, soccer, baseball, tennis, RPG, other, but you're only going to get one on each system. He's not nearly as oversaturated as people say. They act like all the Mario games are exactly the same, when they're all totally different genres.

Those are RUMORS and regardless of where it is posted (a big news site like IGN) or a smaller site (like the ones you listed) they are just that...rumors and shouldn't be taken as the final word.
